Our program was created by Dr. Marcus Lastimado, DMD, MAGD, MICOI and the Institution of Dental Advancement, PA. We offer convenient, once a week, night programs. The Institution of Dental Advancement is a nationally approved PACE program provider through the Academy of General Dentistry.
The Dental Assistant Implant Training Program curriculum, and testing, are specifically designed to enhance your current dental assistant skill set. Upon availability and state locality, LIVE patient surgical assisting experiences are also available to further enhance your surgical experience.
Dr. Marcus Lastimado, and his team have trained over 500 dentists in Texas in the art and science of dental implants. Dr. Lastimado also teaches nationally and internationally and through their extensive graduate network it had become evident that skilled dental assistants with surgical implant experience was very hard to find. Dental assistants that had surgical dental implant training were in high demand for dental practices offering dental implant therapy.
According to the Henry J. Kaiser foundation, there are over 210,000 dentists in the United States. With increased exposure to dental education, insurance coverage, and declining costs of dental implant treatments single-unit implant therapy is set to grow to be 74% of all dental implant procedures in the United States by 2021. According to the American Academy of Implant Dentistry 56% of dental implants are being placed by general dentists. - Learn more at: https://www.dentalaegis.com/id/2014/04/guide-to-im...
